Highlights from FOSS United:

ONE WEEK to IndiaFOSS 2025! Let’s get you up to speed, here’s what’s cooking

• Full schedule is out!
  We’ll keep it short. Here’s the schedule. We've got conversations covering the full spread: the make-or-break questions, the hype everyone’s chasing, the grunt work nobody celebrates, and the dull-but-vital bits that keep the lights on.
  Plan your conf days, there’s a lot going on and we are not sorry.

  IndiaFOSS 2025 comes with an extra day?? Yes, you’ve heard it right. If a 100+ sessions and 60+ booths weren’t enough, we’ve got a Day 0, we’ve got side-events. We want you to make the most of your time this FOSS weekend.
  • Curated, supercool, get-your-hands-dirty workshops @Day 0. Check them out here.
  • A gathering of the finest maintainers @Maintainer Summit, come talk burn out, sustainability, funding and more.
  • And we’ve got a potluck if that interests you, while we cook more (a lot more) pre-events, stay tuned here.

FOSS Clubs are back and how

• With over 50 colleges participating in the FOSS Clubs program, we set out to form a FOSS Clubs committee to make sure things run smoothly. Say hello to the FOSS Club Committee 2025-26
• All things in order, we also hosted the first of “First Commit” sessions for this year, with Gagandeep Singh.

CRI Guidelines and RTI shenanigans

• The new Guidelines for examination of Computer Related Inventions (CRIs) are out.
  • On July 29th, the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trade Marks [CGPDTM], released the updated Guidelines; check them out.
  • The CGPDTM also disposed of our RTI applications seeking all the public comments it received during the consultation rounds, among other things. Read in full.
